The purpose of the Arizona Good Sam State Scholarship fund is to promote
educational achievement through the granting of scholarship awards to
individuals within the families of Arizona Good Sam Chapter members.
The granting of the annual award is conducted at the Arizona State
Samboree and is done on the basis of merit as determined by information
provided on the application.
Funds to support the State Scholarship awards are generated through the
generous donations of chapter members who provide "gently used"
or new items or items that would be suitable for re-gifting, that are auctioned at the Samboree. Many of our Arizona
Good Sam'rs support the fund through individual and chapter monetary
donations.
As
a result of your support and generosity, two of our Arizona Good Sam
chapter members, Arno & Vera Gates and John and Diane
DeCastro, saw their family members honored as recipients of scholarship
awards at the 2010 Arizona State Samboree.
At this year's Samboree (2011), the recipients of the Scholarships are:
Jacob Akers, grandson of James P. Delaney, Sr.,
Michelle Splaver, granddaughter of Bob and Doris Drust
Duane
and Sandy Lauver extends their thanks and appreciation to all who
participate in this fund raiser through donations and volunteering to
help with the auction.
